Roll over to AKC dog show in town

With the Westminster Dog Show, New Yorkers had their chance to cheer for their favorite breed of dog. Now, it is almost time to go out and cheer dogs in Wichita Falls. The Faith City Kennel Club will hold its annual dog show at the J.S. Bridwell Agricultural Center on Feb. 28 and 29.
As always, the show is free to the public. However, it is requested that the public refrain from bringing their household pets. The show will start at 8:30 a.m. both days and will finish about 5 p.m. each day with the "Best in Show." There will be approximately 1,500 dogs participating in this show. These dogs will represent all 50 states and various countries from around the world. This will be a great opportunity to find out about that various breeds that you are interested in. Be sure to check the Wichita Falls Times Record News for the show times of your favorite breeds.
If you are looking for those hard-to-find pet specialty items, the show will have 30 vendors selling everything a dog owner could want. The vendors represented this year include Woodpeckers, Jan's Photos and Transfers, Rainbow Creations and Courtney's, a full line vendor. Also attending will be JS Canina, Handlers Choice, Biljac Foods, Martigra, The Tag Company, Dog Wise Books, and Shea Butter Products. Do not miss booths presented by Masterpiece Pet Products, Merrick Pet Foods, Georgia's Antiques and Emu Items from Duncan Okla.
Other vendors include Karen Coleman, Nutro Foods, Farmore Shade, Show USA and Something Borrowed. Be sure to check out Roxy Smith's booth that sells great gift ideas for pet lovers. Additional vendors include Candles by Luanna Wilkinson, Waggy Tails Animal Creations and Horse Feathers. An annual favorite is Ida Romero and her personal creations of dog beds and couches. Be sure to look for "Dr. Krueger's remedies for animals" by Dess June. Dr. A. J. Quinn will be on the show grounds doing eye exams for the dogs for $20.
